1. About these Terms

These Terms apply when you create an account, use CareerAI Academy, purchase or use a paid subscription, purchase extra app credits, or otherwise use services supplied by Your Career Academy through CareerAI Academy.

“Your Career Academy”, “CareerAI Academy”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the provider of the CareerAI Academy software and related career services. Your Career Academy is established in the Netherlands. Contact is available through the contact form on this website. Mandatory business-identification details shown on invoices, checkout or other legally required notices form part of the applicable transaction information.

If mandatory consumer law gives you rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited, those rights always prevail over these Terms.

2. Relationship with Paddle

Payments for CareerAI Academy are processed through Paddle. Paddle acts as Merchant of Record and authorised reseller for transactions completed through Paddle Checkout. This means that, for those transactions, Paddle is the seller of record and is responsible for charging you, collecting applicable transaction taxes and providing buyer payment support, while Your Career Academy licenses and supports CareerAI Academy.

A purchase through Paddle is also subject to Paddle’s applicable Buyer Terms and Refund Policy. If there is a conflict concerning payment processing, statutory withdrawal or a Paddle transaction, mandatory law and the applicable Paddle buyer terms take precedence to the extent required.

3. Accounts and account security

You must provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless the activity results from a security failure for which we are legally responsible. You must promptly notify us if you reasonably suspect unauthorised access.

Accounts are personal unless we expressly agree otherwise. You may not sell, transfer or share access in a way that circumvents plan limits, credit rules, security controls or other usage restrictions.

4. CareerAI Academy services

CareerAI Academy may include CV analysis, CV improvement, CV-to-vacancy matching, cover-letter or motivation-letter generation, interview preparation, document storage and related features. Available functionality depends on your current plan, credit balance and service status.

AI-generated scores, recommendations, formulations, letters, questions and other output are probabilistic and may be incomplete, inaccurate, unsuitable or outdated. We do not guarantee a job interview, employment result, ATS result, employer decision or any specific career outcome.

You must review AI output before using it. You may only submit statements, qualifications, experience and achievements that are truthful and that you are entitled to use.

5. Plans, prices and automatic renewal

Current plans, prices, included credits, billing intervals and upload limits are shown on the Pricing page and in CareerAI Academy before purchase. The information shown at checkout is decisive for the transaction.

Paid weekly and monthly subscriptions renew automatically for the same billing interval until cancelled. The recurring charge applicable to the next period is made through Paddle using the payment method associated with the subscription, subject to Paddle’s buyer terms and applicable law.

You can cancel a subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period. Until then, the subscription remains available subject to these Terms. After the effective cancellation date, no further recurring charge is due unless you start a new subscription.

For the current MVP1 version of CareerAI Academy, direct switching between active subscription plans is not supported. To choose another subscription, you must first cancel the current subscription, allow the paid period to end and then start the new plan.

6. Subscription credits

Paid plans include a defined number of recurring app credits for each billing period. The number of credits and the actions that consume credits are shown in CareerAI Academy and may differ by plan.

Recurring subscription credits belong to the applicable billing period and do not carry over to a later period unless we expressly state otherwise. When a new paid period starts successfully, the recurring credit allocation for that period becomes available.

Credits are usage units within CareerAI Academy. They are not money, electronic money, a bank balance or a transferable financial asset and cannot be exchanged for cash except where a refund or other remedy is required by law or expressly approved through the applicable payment process.

7. Extra app credits

Extra app-credit packages are one-time purchases and are available only while you have an active paid subscription. Purchased extra credits do not expire under the current product rules.

Recurring subscription credits are consumed before purchased extra credits. If your paid subscription ends, unused purchased extra credits remain stored in your account but cannot be used without an active paid subscription. They become usable again when an eligible paid subscription is activated.

If an extra-credit transaction is validly refunded before credits from that purchase have been consumed, the corresponding unused credits may be withdrawn from your account. If value from the refunded or disputed purchase has already been consumed, the account may be placed on a payment hold for new paid actions until the financial position or dispute is resolved, subject always to mandatory consumer rights.

8. Failed payments, refunds and payment disputes

Only a successfully paid and valid subscription period provides paid entitlement. If a subscription payment fails, is reversed, is refunded, or becomes subject to an unresolved payment dispute, new paid functionality may be temporarily blocked until the payment status is resolved.

Where technically possible, existing CVs, vacancies and previously generated results remain readable while new AI actions and new paid storage or generation actions are blocked. Subscription management, payment recovery and other actions needed to resolve the issue remain available where applicable.

Refund and statutory withdrawal requests for Paddle transactions are handled in accordance with applicable law and Paddle’s Refund Policy. Nothing in these Terms limits a statutory right to a refund, withdrawal, conformity remedy or chargeback.

9. Statutory withdrawal rights

If you are a consumer, you may have a statutory cooling-off or withdrawal right for an online purchase. For consumers in the European Union and European Economic Area, this is generally a 14-day right for qualifying distance contracts, subject to the legal rules and exceptions for digital content and services.

For transactions completed through Paddle, withdrawal and refund requests can be submitted through the transaction receipt, Paddle’s subscription-management or buyer-support options, or as otherwise described in Paddle’s Refund Policy. The statutory rules applicable to you always prevail.

10. Your content and privacy

You retain your rights in CVs, vacancy texts, profile information and other content you upload or create. You grant us the limited rights necessary to host, process, transform and transmit that content solely to operate, secure, improve and support CareerAI Academy in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

You must not upload content that you do not have the right to use, or content whose processing would be unlawful. Avoid including unnecessary sensitive personal information in documents submitted for AI processing.

11. Acceptable use

You may not use CareerAI Academy to break the law, infringe third-party rights, interfere with security or availability, bypass technical restrictions, manipulate credits or payments, automate abusive traffic, attempt unauthorised access, or use the service to create deliberately deceptive job-application information.

We may take proportionate measures to protect users, the service and payment integrity, including rate limiting, blocking a specific action, temporarily suspending new paid actions or, for serious or repeated abuse, suspending an account. Where required by law and reasonably possible, we will provide notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue.

12. Intellectual property

CareerAI Academy, its software, design, branding, documentation and underlying service components are owned by or licensed to Your Career Academy and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose while your account and applicable access remain valid.

These Terms do not transfer ownership of our software, trademarks or other proprietary materials to you.

13. Availability, maintenance and changes

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. Maintenance, security events, third-party outages, AI-provider availability or circumstances beyond reasonable control can affect access.

We may improve, replace or discontinue features where reasonably necessary. We will not intentionally remove a material paid entitlement during an already paid billing period without an appropriate remedy where required by law.

14. Changes to prices and Terms

Future subscription prices or these Terms may be changed for legitimate reasons such as product development, security, legal requirements, provider costs or changes to the service. A price change does not retrospectively change a completed transaction.

For an active consumer subscription, material changes that disadvantage you will be communicated in advance where required. Unless a change must take effect earlier for legal, security or similarly compelling reasons, changes affecting the contractual subscription terms apply no earlier than a future billing period. If applicable law gives you a right to cancel because of a change, that right remains unaffected.

15. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including mandatory consumer rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

To the extent permitted by law, CareerAI Academy is provided as an assistance tool. We are not responsible for an employer’s recruitment decision, your use of unchecked AI output, inaccurate information supplied by you, or indirect business or career consequences that cannot reasonably be attributed to a breach by us.

If you use CareerAI Academy as a business rather than as a consumer, any additional limitation of liability must be interpreted in accordance with mandatory law and the nature of the relevant service.

16. Ending or suspending use

You may stop using the free service at any time and may cancel paid subscriptions as described above. Account deletion may be requested or performed using available account controls, subject to legal retention duties and legitimate records required for payment, security, fraud prevention or dispute handling.

We may suspend or terminate access for a material breach of these Terms, unlawful use, serious security risk or unresolved payment-integrity issue. Any measure will be proportionate to the circumstances and will not remove non-waivable rights relating to payments already made or content that applicable law requires us to provide or preserve.

17. Complaints and support

For questions about CareerAI Academy functionality, your account or these Terms, contact Your Career Academy through the website contact form. For transaction receipts, Paddle billing, statutory withdrawal or refund requests relating to a Paddle transaction, use the support options in your Paddle receipt or Paddle buyer support.

We will try to resolve complaints within a reasonable period. Your right to use any competent consumer authority, court or statutory dispute mechanism remains unaffected.

18. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Dutch law. If you are a consumer living in another country, this choice of law does not deprive you of mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence.

Disputes that cannot be resolved informally may be submitted to the competent court. For consumers, mandatory rules on jurisdiction and access to local courts continue to apply.

19. Entire agreement and severability

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, transaction information shown before purchase and any mandatory Paddle buyer terms applicable to the payment, form the contractual framework for your use of CareerAI Academy. If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent legally possible.

20. Version and records

This is version 1.0 of the CareerAI Academy Terms and Conditions, effective 26 August 2026. We recommend saving or printing the version that applies when you purchase. Where we materially update these Terms, we will identify the new effective date.
